Necro-ing this one with love, because it's become a proper museum piece. Every guess in here predates the teaser by two years. Majoron's "pretty much 100% confirming Valenwood" memo is a delight to reread in 2026. Quietly, Max's two-word "Hopefully hammerfell" has aged best of anyone's.
So, the 2026 state of the evidence. The 2018 teaser is still our only primary source: a rocky coastline, arid highlands, what looks like a ruined fortification on the cliffs. Most of us read that as the Iliac Bay, Hammerfell shading into High Rock. But that's interpretation, not confirmation.
The nearest thing to a credible signal since: ex-loremaster Kurt Kuhlmann says the setting was locked by internal consensus during Fallout 4's development, "obviously it should be here", and he pointedly declined to name it. A setting locked since pre-2015 fits the teaser reading. It still confirms nothing.
Everything that actually names Hammerfell is rumor-tier: the "TES VI: Iliac" 4chan leak was widely flagged as likely fabrication, and the earlier eXtas1s claims promised a July 2025 trailer that never materialized. Bethesda has said nothing, eight years on.
My bias: I want the consensus to be right, because the Redguards have the best unmined lore in the series and Daggerfall barely scratched it.
For the 2016 crowd still subscribed. If it is the Iliac Bay again, which Daggerfall-era place do you most want rebuilt at modern fidelity: Sentinel, Wayrest, or the Direnni Tower?
