Elder Scrolls VI Return of The Dwarves

The Dwarves are probably my most favorite race of Mer. I would love to see them eventually being playable, but have serious doubts they will be playable in TES VI. What would be cool is if they were introduced back into the world or at least the air of mystery around them is solved. Finding the Dwarves could prove to be an interesting main quest. Looking around the internet it seems some people would rather have them kept as a mystery. I was wondering your opinions on whether we should find more about the Dwarves in TES VI or would you rather it be kept a secret?

I can already think of a few ways the Dwarves could come back; mostly involving Dragon Breaks and time travel, stuff I'd rather not go into if I can avoid it. However, judging by the lore, the mostly likely place for the Dwemer's return to take place is Morrowind, followed by (in no particular order) Skyrim, Elsweyr, Daggerfall and Hammerfell (this part depends on the details of the Dragon Break of 1E 668, the Red Moment). Basically, in order to figure anything out you have to go neck-deep into the lore, and I'm still not terribly well-versed regarding the Dwemer. However, if TES:VI is set in Valenwood, as I think it almost certainly will be (see "Where do you think Elder Scrolls VI will be set in?" for my reasoning), then it's unlikely that we'll see much at all regarding the Dwemer.

I don't believe there are any Dwemer ruins in Valenwood only Ayleid. I believe the game will take place in either High Rock or Hammerfell. Both these places would give a medieval feel since Bethesda has been going more mainstream. Both these places have prevalent Dwemer ruins. Also Wrothgar has many Dwemer ruins so we might see a Orsinium/High Rock combined game.

If the game is in Valenwood, there's still a chance some quests or maybe DLC could cover the history of the Dwarves. (The Dwarves also had a lot of cool tech, maybe you have to explore an abandoned Dwemer submarine off the coast of Valenwood?)

If you don't visit any of their locations physically with DLC, there could always be a quest where something happened like - maybe a Dwemer scholar visited some Aylieds 4000 years ago in Valenwood and something happened, so you have to go into some Aylied ruin to see what artifacts/documents were left behind by the Dwemer.

War It's certainly possible, I just don't think that there's much reason to include anything related to the Dwemer, hence why I think that it's unlikely.

Gotta agree with Majoron. As cool as the Dwemer are, the game I'm envisioning is an uphill battle against an oppressive and murderous Altmeri regime, trying to drive them out and liberate Valenwood. Don't see why there can't be any Dwemer dungeons or subplots, but I don't personally see how they would add much to this kind of a story/setting besides providing a bit of scenic variety... and that's a lot of development effort that could be put to better use imo.

Nah, I don't expect we'll hear much of the Dwemer in TES6. Eventually I do hope to see an entire game centered around them though; they've had so much buildup, I think that'd be the proper way to do it.

I actually want the dwemmer to stay the way they are, it's implied that they reached an higher concept of existance (possibly, higher than the aedra) or simply disappeared.

Either way, I don't think they would be interested in mundus anymore, but some of them could return, maybe as a tiny faction, composed of 4 or 5 really powerful characters that were exploring oblivion when the battle at red mountain happened, just like that morrowind character.

Maybe they could be trying to bring their race back from non existing, or join them whenever they are, and while doing so, they could cause massive cataclismic stuff, that could be the thing that drives the game forward.
