About Elder Scrolls Forum
Elder Scrolls Forum is an independent, human-moderated community for people who care about the Elder Scrolls series: TES VI news, lore and theories, Skyrim, and Elder Scrolls Online. We are fans running a forum for other fans. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or funded by Bethesda Softworks or ZeniMax Media, and we carry no publisher money and no ads. Why this site exists Most Elder Scrolls conversation now happens on fast platforms built for the next hour, not the next decade. Threads scroll away, sources go unlinked, and a rumour repeated three times starts to read like fact. We wanted something slower and sturdier: a place where a good post about the Towers or the Dragon Break is still findable, and still cited, years after it was written. So the forum runs on four principles: No unsourced leaks. If a claim about an unreleased game cannot be traced to a source, it does not get presented as news here. Lore grounded in cited texts. In-game books, developer statements, and dated interviews come first. Speculation is welcome, but it is framed as speculation. A searchable archive. Threads are kept, organised, and meant to be read long after the day they were posted. Independence. No publisher funding, no advertising, no incentive to hype. Reading is open to everyone, no account needed. Posting takes a free account and a little care for whoever reads after you. Moderation The forum is moderated by people, not by automated filters making final calls. Human moderators read reports, weigh context, and make judgement decisions. In practice that means: Rumour gets labelled as rumour. Posts presenting unverified claims as confirmed fact will be edited to add that label or removed. Sourcing is enforced in news and lore categories. Moderators may ask you to cite before a claim stands. Discussion stays about the games. Personal attacks, bad-faith dogpiling, and off-topic flooding are removed; disagreement about lore, argued in good faith, is the point of the place. Decisions can be questioned. If you think a moderation call was wrong, contact the moderation team through the forum and a human will review it. We would rather host one careful thread than a hundred noisy ones. If that sounds like your pace, welcome in.
